This trip lasts approximately 2 hours and covers a radius of around 20 miles.
Taking advantage of the size, speed and sea keeping qualities of our catamarans, Stardust II and Wavedancer, as well as our 42ft monohull Saorsa na Mara, this trip allows an opportunity to go further afield and deeper into the Sound of Raasay’s treasure trove of potential wildlife, all in great comfort aboard those vessels!
Depending on reports, sightings, or weather conditions we can decide to go north or south into the Sound of Raasay, at the discretion of your skipper on the day. As we can cover a greater distance on those vessels, this trip gives us an enhanced opportunity of encountering other wildlife, with sightings of our resident white-tailed eagles and seals highly likely, as well as potential encounters with dolphins, whales, and, seasonally, puffins.
A trip north into the Sound takes in the breath-taking Red Caves of Raasay, as well as offering picturesque views of the Old Man of Storr and more of the stunning Trotternish Ridge and Jurassic Coastline of Skye.
A trip south into the Sound takes in Holoman Bay’s magnificent seal colony, beautifully backdropped by the Isle of Raasay’s Dùn Caan, among many other special sights.
Minimum of 4 passengers required for the trip to proceed.
